If you’ve ever watched Friday Night Lights and won If you’ve ever watched Friday Night Lights and wondered if Texas high school football is actually like that … it is. The stadium lights are on, and the stands fill up with students, parents, friends, neighbors, and people who don’t even have a kid at the school. The cheerleaders are there, the marching band is playing, everyone’s wearing their team color, and the excitement is palpable. For a few hours, the whole community is invested in what’s happening on that field. The first time I experienced it, I got goosebumps. It’s really neat to see a community come together for a high school team. It’s one of the things that makes a huge metroplex feel smaller. If you’re thinking about moving to DFW, don’t miss the experience of a Friday night at the local stadium!
