Lakeside DFW is unlike anywhere else in Flower Mound (and, as a Flower Mound resident, it’s probably my absolute favorite area to hang out). It’s a walkable, mixed-use community built right on the shores of Lake Grapevine. Tudor-influenced townhomes, condos, and single-family homes sit alongside shops, restaurants, and trails, all within a few minutes’ walk of each other. This area, developed over the past decade, has a distinctly different feel from the older homes in the northern part of the neighborhood – but both fall under the same highly-rated Lewisville ISD schools.
The Lifestyle
This is the closest thing Flower Mound has to true lock-and-leave, walk-to-dinner living. The dining and retail scene right within Lakeside means errands and date nights don’t require getting in the car.
It’s also a genuinely active community – live music, seasonal events, and a steady rhythm of programming give it more of an urban-neighborhood feel than a typical suburban subdivision. For commuters, Lakeside Parkway and Texas 121 put DFW Airport about 10 miles away, and access to the broader metroplex is easy.
Randi’s Take
Lakeside is the answer for buyers who tell me they want walkability and a lock-and-leave lifestyle but don’t want to leave Flower Mound to get it. It’s a blend of a lakeside town mixed with an urban environment, and that’s exactly the appeal. The thing buyers need to know about Lakeside is product type: high rise living in Lakeside Tower, townhome life, or a single-family house are three very different ownership experiences with different HOA structures and price points, even though they’re all “Lakeside.” Let’s figure out which version of that lifestyle actually fits what you’re looking for.
The Homes
Home styles vary more here than almost anywhere else in Flower Mound. You’ll find Tudor-influenced townhomes, high rise living in buildings like Lakeside Tower (which come with building amenities), and single-family homes with lake proximity and ample space. New construction is still happening too – communities like The Villas at Lakeside are adding modern homes with builder customization options.
The median home price sits around $750K, though it varies significantly by housing type. HOA dues apply and typically cover landscaping, common area maintenance, and amenities depending on the specific section or building.
