Castle Hills is one of the largest and most amenity-rich master-planned communities in the DFW metroplex. With nearly 2,900 acres and over 4,300 homes, it’s been welcoming its first residents since 1998. Developed by Bright Realty, it was built around the idea of small-town living inside an urban-style setting, and more than two decades later, that vision still holds. From entry-level townhomes to custom estates in the gated Enchanted Hill neighborhood, Castle Hills offers a wide enough range that buyers across very different budgets end up calling it home.

The Lifestyle

Castle Hills is built for residents who want to stay active without leaving the neighborhood. The amenity centers are strong anchors, with swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, fitness rooms, and playgrounds. Spread across the community, you’re never far from a pool or playground. In total, the community offers seven swimming pools, 25+ parks, six miles of hike-and-bike trails, a 12-acre catch-and-release fishing lake, and sports fields throughout.

At the center of it is The Lakes at Castle Hills, a private, award-winning golf course and country club with dining and social events. It’s the perfect amenity for residents who want that lifestyle without joining a club outside the neighborhood. The community continues to grow too, with mixed-use developments adding walkable shopping, dining, and office space.

Randi’s Take

Castle Hills is one of the few communities in this area where you can genuinely move up – from a townhome to a single-family home to a custom estate in Enchanted Hill – without ever leaving the neighborhood you love. That kind of flexibility matters more than people realize when life changes. What I always tell buyers is that Castle Hills isn’t one HOA experience; it’s several, depending on the section, and the amenities you actually get access to can differ. If you’re considering Castle Hills, let’s make sure we’re looking at the right section for your budget and the lifestyle you’re after.

The Homes

Castle Hills offers about as much housing variety as you’ll find in any single DFW community. Square footage ranges from 1,844 to over 5,500 square feet, and home styles span attached townhomes, single-family homes in established sections, and custom estate homes in Enchanted Hill, the community’s most exclusive neighborhood, set beside The Lakes golf course. Newer phases like Castle Hills Northpointe are still actively selling, with townhomes from American Legend Homes currently priced from the high $500Ks to high $600Ks, built by a roster that also includes Belclaire Homes, Britton Homes, Shaddock Homes, and Toll Brothers.

Because Castle Hills has so many distinct sections built over more than 25 years, HOA structures and amenity access can vary depending on exactly where you’re buying. Some gated neighborhoods have their own additional pool and HOA layer on top of the master community fee.

One thing to note if you’re considering this area: there is a part of Castle Hills that extends into Carrollton.
